{PRODUCT REVIEW} Skin Republic 24k Gold Peel-Off Mask

...Because who doesn't enjoy dripping 24k gold onto their face?

Hello bella babes!

Another face mask review because… let’s face it, I am obsessed! This past weekend I picked up the Skin Republic 24k Gold Peel-Off Anti-Aging face mask. I will give you a moment to process that. Right, so long name aside, I decided to review this product based on my previous skin mask review criteria. If you haven’t read my previous reviews on Glamglow and Biophase- then simply click on each of the names I just mentioned and BAM…bob’s your uncle.

MAIN POINTS TO MENTION

The Product

The mask comes in sachet that has a resealable nozzle with a twist cap which makes it easy to get the recommended 3 uses out of the product.

The main focus of the product is on:

  1. Peeling away the visible signs of aging
  2. Refining the texture of the skin
  3. Creating a youthful, radiant glow
There are said to be 3 applications in the sachet which is 27ml altogether.

The Ingredients

Aqua/Water/Eau, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Alcohol, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Titanium Dioxide(CI 77891), Glycerin, PEG-400, PVP, Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Niacinamide, Allantoin, Silica, Bentonite, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Dextrin, Tin Oxide, Adenosine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Cyclodextrin, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Hydrolyzed Extensin, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hyaluronate, Colloidal Gold, Xanthan Gum, Benzyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Raspberry Ketone, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum/Fragrance.

The Price

I paid R66.95 for my 27ml sachet.

My Review

So I am sure you know I love my GlamGlow masks and these come in tubs which last foreeeever. This mask however comes in a sachet which has a twistable screw cap which allows for resuse and storage. So on the packaging side, it’s a thumbs up from me. The package says there are 3 uses in it which seem about right. I haven’t finished it yet and I have used it twice.

The mask consistency itself is very easy to spread and once dry (it takes about 30 minutes) then it peels off (quite well I might add). The problem with most peel off masks is that, no matter how evenly you apply them, there seems to be residue or they don’t really peel very well. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this mask peeled off well and although there was some left behind (which may have been due to my hap-hazard application…we will never know 😉 ) I was impressed.

Removing the mask was slightly tougher as it did pull my skin slightly…similar to that of a charcoal mask…however if I peeled it slower, it was not as painful. My skin felt absolutely amazing afterwards though, super super soft. So that little bit of resistance was totally worth it.

Upon cleaning up the slight excess that was left on my skin, my skin really did have a glow to it. I really wish I took an ‘After’ photo but I was too busy doing a makeup application for the Baskin Robbins competition! (If you are feeling particularly kind, please show me some love on that Insta post!)

All of that aside though, for the price- I am so so impressed with this product. It does exactly what it promises to do and smells and looks great whilst doing it!

Such great value for money! It works out to R22.31 an application.

It does exactly what it claims to do- leaving the skin soft and radiant!
