Hello my lovelies!
Welcome back to my blog.
Today is not the usual product review- today I am reviewing a procedure that many of you have asked me about- the infamous lash lift. I recently went to Queen Bee in Cape Town and had this procedure done and then posted a couple of pics and videos on Instagram. Shortly after, I received many messages and comments asking me for more information, so I decided, let me just make a blog post! That way, you can find all the info you need- in one place- with the relevant images!
This was my first time ever doing ANYTHING to my eyelashes so I was nervous at first but Tamlyn’s calm and professional manner totally put me at ease. At the end of the procedure, all I thought was that I should have done this AGES ago!
But first before we get to the good stuff, let me just show you a teaser of the magic…
So let's get down to business. Lash lift FAQ.
First things first, a lash lift is like a perm but for your eyelashes! So I’m sure the first question you would ask is…“but why do I need to perm my eyelashes”?
Good question! Well you know those eyelash curlers? The ones that you carefully place over your eyelashes, praying to not clip your skin in? The same ones that you hold shut for minutes hoping you don’t lose your grip and pull all your eyelashes out? (Or is that just me?) I know the first time my boyfriend saw my eyelash curler, he said it reminded him of some medieval torture device!
But anyway I digress. The point is this process, eliminates that scary device.
Your eyelashes will be placed on a silicone mould which will help to curl each lash individually as the solutions are placed on them. With these pads in place, they protects your eyes too during this really quick and painless process!
So next question, this procedure must be painful right? And the answer is no! During the entire procedure, your eyes are closed and your lower lids and upper lids are protected by the silicone moulds.
Next, why would YOU in particular want to get a lash lift? Well if you answer yes to any of the below questions, then the lash lift may be the perfect solution for you!
- Do you have super straight lashes?
- Do you get tired of wearing false eyelashes?
- Do you find yourself lacking the time to upkeep lash extensions?
- Or do you just want beautiful lashes when you wake up first thing in the morning?
OH and before I forget- the cost of a lash lift and tint- ONLY R575! Yep, pretty much the cost of a couple of pairs of false eyelashes (With none of the stress!)
Before and After the Lash lift and Tint
Step-by-Step Lash Lift Process
(images are not of myself but were provided by Queen Bee)
The lash lift is comprised of 3 main steps:
1. After the silicone mould is placed on the eyelid, the pink perming solution is then placed on the eyelashes. This stays on the eyelashes for 10 minutes.
2. After 10 minutes, the blue setting lotion is then applied which is also left on for 10 minutes and aids to set the perm/curl of the lash.
3. After 10 minutes are up, the last solution is applied- the tint. The longer this tint is left on, the darker the eyelashes. The recommended time for this solution to activate is 10 minutes too.
A few days later, wearing one layer of Benefit Bad Girl Bang Mascara
My Final Thoughts
I found the whole process painless, quick and to say I am extremely impressed with the results is an understatement. That being said, I would advise you definitely ONLY consult a professional who uses quality ingredients and techniques. I have listed Queen Bee’s details at the bottom of the post for those who are interested.
As promised (on instagram), in 3-4 weeks time, I will be doing a follow up blog to show you how the lash lift is doing. Below I will rate my overall experience as I do with all my reviews.
Also, I would LOVE to hear from you! Have you ever had a lash lift before? Did you love it? Hate it? Can’t live without it? Let me know!
